On 11 December, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) bid farewell to their Chief Fire Officer Rick Ogden.
Colleagues gathered at CFRS Headquarters to say their goodbyes and celebrate Rick’s career.
Rick has served in the fire and rescue service sector for 23 years, joining Cumbria in 2021, initially starting as Assistant Chief Fire Officer before being appointed as Chief Fire Officer in 2023.
Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, David Allen, said: “Rick Ogden has been a pillar of Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service since he joined Cumbria.
“In his time as Chief Fire Officer, he has been a passionate leader – dedicated to continuously building on the good work of the Service and ensuring the public received the best service possible.
“Rick was vital in the transfer of governance responsibility to my Office throughout 2022/2023 and has always placed the interests of the Service, staff and public first.
“Throughout his career, both in Cumbria and across the country, Rick has achieved an incredible amount. His wealth of knowledge and leadership will be missed by the organisation.
“I wish Rick the very best for the future.’
