Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (Commissioner), David Allen, is encouraging people to come along to chat with him and raise any policing and fire concerns they may have, at the Westmorland Show on 11 and 12 September.

The Commissioner will be at the showground both days with Get Safe Online, an international organisation that the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) commission to provide local people with information on how to keep themselves safe online. The Get Safe Online stall will be situated next to the Cumbria Constabulary and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) stands.

Speaking on the event, Commissioner David Allen, said: “This will be my first county show as Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and I’m looking forward to speaking to residents from our rural communities to hear their concerns and views on Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and also the Constabulary.

“I’ll be at the Show with Get Safe Online who will be sharing key information, advice and tips on how people can best protect themselves from falling victim to cyber-crime. I would encourage anyone who is worried about their own or their families’ safety online and have a chat with the team.

“Members from my Office will also be at the show asking members of the public about their top concerns around crime so I encourage anyone who wishes to have their say, to pop along and tell us your views.

“The Westmorland show gives me the opportunity to speak to those who live and work in the more remote parts of the county about their views on crime and how we, as Police and Fire, can better serve their communities.

“Please come along on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th September to raise your views and concerns and have a chat with me at the Show.”

“As your Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner, my role is to be the voice of residents within Cumbria, in respect of the Police and Fire and Rescue services – I am your voice. If any member of the public has a concern about crime in their area, or around the Constabulary or Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, and cannot attend the show please raise it with me at commissioner@cumbria-pcc.gov.uk or call 01768 217734.”

If you wish to report to police you can do so online at Report a crime | Cumbria Police. You can also phone on 101. Always phone 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
