Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, David Allen, will be at Cumbria Pride on Saturday 21 August supporting Cumbria Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community at Caldew Riverside Carpark, Carlisle.

The Commissioner and his Office will be there to listen to any concerns the community has around Policing and Fire, asking attendees what their crime priorities are and providing advice on victim services available in the county.

Speaking on the event, Commissioner David Allen, said: “Cumbria is a welcoming, inclusive county and Pride events celebrate this and highlights that if we treat people with kindness and respect, we can create a better world.

“I, alongside my Office, will be in attendance at Cumbria Pride to hear everyone’s concerns around policing and fire so I hope that anyone attending will come along and have a chat – I am your voice in these services so please use me!

“Everyone in Cumbria – and across the world – has the right to feel safe and be who they are without threat or violence which is why it is so important to support Pride events and the LGBTQIA+ across the county.

“As your Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner, my role is to be the voice of residents within Cumbria, in respect of the Police and Fire services – I am your voice. If any member of the public has a concern about crime in their area, or around the Constabulary or Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, please raise it with me at commissioner@cumbria-pcc.gov.uk or call 01768 217734.”
