Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (Commissioner), David Allen, will be available on Tuesday 13 August at the Town Council building on Market Square, Cleator Moor, CA25 5AP from 5.15 -6.15pm, for people to drop in and share their views on the future priorities of Cumbria Constabulary and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.

The Commissioner is currently running a consultation that will assist with the development of the Police, Fire and Crime Plan for the next four years. The Plan sets out the aims that the Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Service will prioritise, based on what the public would like to see from their services. It will also be used by the Commissioner to hold the Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer to account.

The consultation survey is asking residents how safe they feel in the area that they live and their views on the current services they receive from Police and Fire and Rescue.

Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, David Allen, comments: “I really hope that people take the opportunity to come and meet with me face to face at the Town Hall building at Cleator Moor and share their views on the Police and Fire services.

“As Commissioner, I am responsible for producing a Police, Fire and Crime Plan that sets out the priorities for Cumbria Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service over the next four years.

“I am now developing this Plan and I really want to hear local people’s ideas or concerns. What do you want in the plan?, what do you want us to concentrate on?, what is important to you in the area where you live and work?

“I genuinely welcome all views – I want to hear your opinions on the services so that I know what is working well for the public and what can be improved, so please come along for a chat.

“In my role as Commissioner, I am your voice. If any member of the public has a concern about crime in their area, or around the Constabulary or Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, please raise it with me at Cleator Moor or at commissioner@cumbria-pcc.gov.uk or call 01768 217734.”

Anyone interested in sharing their views can do so through the survey. The Consultation closes on Thursday 5 September 2024. Paper copies of the survey are also available. To receive one, please email commissioner@cumbria-pcc.gov.uk or call 01768 217734.

If you wish to report to police you can do so online at Report a crime | Cumbria Police. You can also phone on 101. Always phone 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
