Salary: Scale 2: £25,278 per annum (pro rata), plus a monthly honorarium payment of £29.21

Hours: Based on a 32.5-hour working week.

Based: Headquarter, Carlton Hall, Penrith

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Catering Supervisor to support the delivery of a high-quality catering service. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong catering skills, supervisory experience, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our catering facilities, supervising Catering Assistants, preparing and serving food, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and supporting the continued development and promotion of the service.

As Catering Supervisor you will:

  • Prepare, cook and serve meals to agreed standards of quality and food safety.
  • Assist in the planning and development of seasonal menus.
  • Supervise and support Catering Assistants in their daily duties.
  • Allocate and monitor work to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Order, receive and manage stock, ensuring effective stock control and waste reduction.
  • Handle and reconcile cash in accordance with financial procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Support special events, promotions and initiatives to enhance customer engagement.
  • Respond professionally to customer feedback and contribute to service improvements.
  • Support the induction and development of catering staff where required.
