Estates Maintenance Officer

Salary Scale: Scale S01 (£35,526 to £37,692)

Hours: Based on 37 hours per week

Based: Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Penrith, Cumbria

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Cumbria is looking for a dynamic individual to ensure the vision for an estate which maximises operational fit, is cost effective and efficient for both Cumbria Constabulary and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.

Your role will be to provide expert professional services and advice in a complex specialist area and working collaboratively with, and supporting and challenging internal and external stakeholders and partners, including a wide range of professionals and senior managers.

Working as part of the estates team you will be responsible for managing:

  • the day-to-day estates helpdesk and trades team to provide reactive and planned estate maintenance
  • helpdesk facility and manage the Estates Administrator to deliver via both internal and external contractors.
  • the Trades Supervisor to set effective and efficient work targets for the in-house labour team

In addition this role will:

  • ensure all information is recorded on the computerised Estate Management System in respect of works undertaken by the post holder and staff under their control
  • proactively liaise and manage our appointed contractors to ensure that the work delivered is free from defects to the required budget and specification .
