What is assault?

Assault is defined by the illegal act of causing, threatening, or attempting physical contact to another person. There are various types of assault: Common Assault, Actual Bodily Harm and Grievous Bodily Harm. The definitions of all three varieties can be found on the sentencing council website.

How to report assault?

Assault can be reported to Cumbria Police on 101 or 999, in an emergency. Cumbria Police also have an online reporting form.
